Mentoring program: “Restoring Hope and Give Direction”, a school year-long leadership development program consisting of 1:1 and group mentorship, building life skills, project-based learning, and paid work experience opportunities. This program will take place at Wendell Phillips for the second year in a row.
Employment program: “Chasing23 Print Shop”, a social enterprise whose mission is to employ disconnected youth. (We are currently in the stages of developing a business plan, and seeking funding).
Civic engagement program: Youth learn skills to address issues in the local community through social justice and community organizing partnerships.
Drop-in center and community outreach: Youth spend extra time with staff in a “safe space” at the drop-in center, engaging in cultural arts programs ranging from dance to digital media, to sports activities such as basketball and weight training.
